David Townsend - Lead Instructor & Photographer
"The things that inspire me when photographing are what inpire me to teach others. I want my clients to experience the same feelings I get when I'm shooting...the thrill of creating a beautiful landscape image with amazing sunlight painting the scene; the feel of photographing in a Tuscan city plaza, surrounded by amazing pieces of history that happened centuries ago; and the realization when photographing at night, that what I'm seeing isn't just a starry sky, but the infinite space of the Universe. That's inspiration."
David is self-taught and has been a full-time, professional photographer for 15 years.
He started out photographing nature & landscapes on 35mm, medium format, and large format film cameras, and he has been following the advancement of digital photography ever since.
David has over 15 years experience in photographing everything from landscapes to weddings, portraits, food, and more. His travels include USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Italy, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia. With a passion for travel & photography, he brings an informal style of teaching and genuine desire to help people become better photographers.
Today's cameras regularly make massive leaps in technology, and they make the learning curve short & sweet for photographers. However, there are still essentials skills, techniques and functions of the camera that need to be learned hands-on. One can have the greatest camera in the world and still be just an average photographer. These workshops are designed to give you the skills to take your photography to that next level.
David lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife and business partner, Lynn, and their two children. David & Lynn own and operate David Lynn Photography, one of Denver's top wedding & portrait businesses, documenting people's lives wherever the camera takes them.
We look forward to seeing you at a future workshop and guiding you in your photography education!
